This OpenDoc part is a functional copy of the simple calculator that comes as a desk accessory with every Mac. I thought it would be a neat thing if I could embed a calculator in the middle of OpenDoc containers. You can, of course, just double-click the stationary to use the calculator in its own window.
Info-Mac (and other) moderators: I'm not sure how many OpenDoc parts you've had submitted so far, but I suggest that these should go in a new directory called “LiveObjects”.
Put the file “CalculatorPartPPC” in the Editors folder inside the System Folder.
Put the stationary file anywhere you like, but normally in the Stationary folder on your disk.
Operation
Double-click the stationary to open a Calculator in its own window, or, more interestingly... drag the stationary into an OpenDoc container (like a drawing program).
You can click the buttons with your mouse, or use the keypad on an extended keyboard. The document that the part saves contains the current display value. Copy takes the current display, Clear clears it.
Credits
This is based firmly on the CalcWindow that comes as a sample with MacApp and it is based on the PowerPart sample that comes with Metrowerks CodeWarrior 10.
